DEVELOPMENT AND TRANSFORMATION PROCESSES IN THE TOURISM INDUSTRY UNDER THE CONDITIONS OF GLOBALIZATION

    EDITOR DR. REMIGIJUS KINDERIS

Tourism may be described variously because of its “close” relationships with other social sciences, including economics, politics, sociology, cultural anthropology, psychology and even law and statistics. Generator of profound transformations in social dynamics, tourism has also stated as a factor of progress and civilization, as a promoter of international relations and, more recently, the argument of globalization and sustainable development.
The team of authors in the collective monograph examines a significant range of theoretical aspects and practical features in these thematic directions: tourism destination development, business models and strategies in tourism, human resources, learning and organization studies in tourism, public policy and environmental management in tourism, information technology and management information systems in tourism and et cetera. As the main practical result of the study, it is worth noting the author’s approach to improving the methodological toolkit for assessing the development and transformation processes in the tourism industry under the conditions of globalization.
Collective monograph can be used in decision-making at diferent level of tourist business and infrastructure, and at level of local governments, in formation of competitive advantages and development of tourism. Results of collective monograph can also be used by students and scientists in higher education in tourism management.
